Shopsmith
Fundamentals course a memorable experience for Maryland man
Marshall

The Shopsmith Fundamentals course and sawdust session
I recently completed was a most worthwhile experience for me. Your
instructor's thorough knowledge of Shopsmith's line, together with
his courtesy and intelligent responses about applications were most
helpful. This well-managed operation and excellent staffing made
for a pleasant visit, indeed.
Your instructor's technical skill, tools & products mastery, excellent
design sense and respect for wood are standards that his teaching
skills make students want to meet. He is articulate, good-humored,
well-informed and dedicated to developing essential student skills.
He makes sure he understands each student's present capacity and
uses a wide range of teaching techniques to further strengths and
overcome weaknesses.
Shopsmith is The Tool That Makes People Happy!

In 1978, I watched a demonstration of the Shopsmith
MARK V in a mall in Southern California and was so impressed, I
purchased one as a gift for my father. He loves it! Over the years,
he has happily created hundreds of wood articles for the house,
gifts for everybody he loves and toys for his grandchildren. He's
proud of everything he makes and everyone is happy to receive hand-crafted
gifts from him.
I wish to extend my gratitude and appreciation to everyone at Shopsmith,
Inc. for creating, developing and maintaining the Shopsmith...the
tool that makes people happy!
48-year-old
MARK V just keeps going and going!

I was 18 years old in the Summer of 1953 when I purchased
my Shopsmith MARK V in Petoskey, Michigan. My first woodshop was
a converted ice house on our Northern Michigan farm. I still have
the Shopsmith and with the exception of the years 1956 - 1959 when
I didn't have room for it, this machine has been in regular use
to this day.
It would be impossible for me to list all of the projects completed
using this machine. Two sets of kitchen cabinets, a complete bedroom
suite, an oak dining table with room for all 14 of us, stereo cabinets,
church furniture, a hammered dulcimer and a 1/12 scale model of
a 1929 Rumley Oil Pull Tractor are just a few.
The amazing thing about the Shopsmith is, that like the Energizer
Bunny, it just keeps going and going. I feel fortunate to have had
a woodworking shop all this time and never regretted buying my Shopsmith
48 years ago.
Man lifts spirits

I'm a 77-year-old man who has owned three different
Shopsmith products starting shortly after I got out of the service
after WWII. My first was your 10ER Model. The next was your SawSmith,
and the last was the MARK V. I was very satisfied with all of them
and I spent many pleasurable hours working with them over the years
until I finally had to give it up because of my age and other related
health problems.
I sold the ER years ago and I know it's still being used. I passed
on the SawSmith to my son....and four years ago, the MARK V was
passed on to my son-in-law, who enjoys it very much. You may wonder
why I am still interested in Shopsmith. It's because I miss my shop
and my Shopsmiths, and I often just sit and meditate on the good
old days.
When I found your excellent website, I spent about an hour just
looking at all the wonderful accessories that you've added to date,
and I'm sure I'll be visiting your site often...just to bring back
more memories of old times. At first, I was surprised that you hadn't
changed the basic MARK V much over the years. Then I got to thinking...why
should you make major changes when it was already the perfect machine
and there wasn't too much you could do to improve on it?
