Wisconsin owner convinces wife that MARK V was a good investment

Tom Sykes of Neenah, WI writes...
“I felt compelled to enclose a few pictures of (a bed) I built with my new Shopsmith MARK V. Please understand that I have had no formal training or woodworking experience - just a strong desire to work with wood. ...the cost was under $45, compared to (one I saw in a brochure) with a list price of $145, so I saved a great deal. Add the benefits of pride and sense of achievement and that's more than you could ever purchase in a store!” “I've now convinced my wife of the soundness of the investment in my new MARK V. She was my biggest critic. Now, she has a long list of projects. I look forward to acquiring additional accessories for my MARK V and to years of personal enjoyment!”

First impressions of the MARK V from new owners' Warranty Cards

Howard Ford of Suffield, CT writes…
“My wife says (my new MARK V) is an expensive toy: I say it's a Man's Dream-Come-True!”

Dennis Barnhart of Topeka, KS writes…
“Super! This is State-Of-The-Art in woodworking !”

Christopher Wieloomas of Newark, NJ writes…
“Happiness is a Shopsmith MARK V.”

Lee Richards of Traverse City, MI writes…
“Excellent quality - built with pride.”

W.L. Volquardsen of Tempe, AZ writes…
“I am very impressed with Shopsmith's fantastic service and the careful, attention-to-detail, both in the manufacturing of my new MARK V and the instructional materials provided. In a word, I am delighted with my purchase !”

New York man gives his MARK V a real workout - and it keeps on working and working, just like new!

Ted Vertone of Watervliet, NY writes...
“I purchased my MARK V in the early part of 1980. I have used my machine to extensively remodel my home and it has performed flawlessly.

At times, my machine was running for 4 to 6 hours at a clip. It didn't even breathe hard! I've performed normal recommended maintenance and kept it cleaned and waxed. It looks and performs just like new.

Another thing that impressed me were the attachments (Shaper, Molder, Router, etc.). I'm currently in the process of making all my own trim and millwork from red oak. The cutters stay keen and sharp for a long time. Even my assortment of Saw Blades is like new. My carbide blade must have 150 hours of use, yet, when I took it to a local sharpening shop, I was told that it didn't really need sharpening.

In today's World of cheap plastic, poor workmanship and one-way warranties, it's really a pleasure to purchase a machine at such a fair price...which does what the manufacturer says it will do and also comes with a real warranty!”
