Husband & wife team build house with MARK V !

“My wife Yvonne and I built our own home with a Shopsmith MARK V. It took us 100 days for the exterior, which included all the foundation work except backhoeing and pouring the cement. I cut 350 1 x 4's in just two afternoons. We saved 50% of the construction cost (plus interest) by building our own home. Am I an advanced woodworker? Nope! I'm 31 and the last time I had any formal (woodworking) training was when I took wood shop in high school.”

“With great apprehension, I purchased a Shopsmith MARK V. This apprehension was not with the quality of the machine, but with my own ability to use it, since I classified myself as a novice. Since then, I've made a mountain of sawdust and several projects that are useful and attractive. Although I still consider myself a novice, I can see my skills improve with every project and am more willing to attempt more ambitious projects. I know there are many potential woodworkers like myself who have a constant inner conflict between the dream of having a workshop and the fear of their ability will not equal the MARK V's.
