Resawing on the bandsaw?
DON'T!

1/4" blade is too light for resawing. Blade guard not lowered to within 1/4" of stock. Left thumb in direct line with blade. No resawing fence.

DO!
Use sharp, 1/2" resawing blade . Blade guard properly lowered. Push stick keeps left hand away from blade. Push block keeps right hand safe.

Surfacing on the jointer?
DON'T!

Table set to cut more than 1/16" in a single pass. Dull jointer knives. Cutterhead guard has been removed. Hand in the danger zone, directly over the rotating knives.

DO!
Table set to cut 1/16" or less in a single pass. Knives are sharp. Cutterhead guard in place. Push blocks keep hands safely away from rotating knives.
