Minnesota owner gives up on looking for used

Phil S. of Minnesota writes...
“For the past 2-1/2 years, I've tried repeatedly to purchase a used Shopsmith MARK V. I've placed ads in the Minneapolis Star and Tribune papers and have watched the want ads like a hawk. During this period, only three machines have been offered for sale, and each of these was sold in each instance before I even had my newspaper delivered ! I've come to the conclusion that a used Shopsmith MARK V is practically a myth. Thus, my order for a new machine is enclosed!

California man looks forward to more years from his pooped-out MARK V

Carl Zucker of Stockton, CA. writes...
“..after 22 years of faithful, hard-working service, my MARK V has finally pooped-out. With some help from your fine service department, I've had the machine repaired and now, it's purring like a kitten! I expect it to run another 2 years and probably outlast me. Every retired man who likes to work with his hands should own a Shopsmith MARK V !

D.C. owner loves the Horizontal Boring feature of his MARK V

Henry Thomas of Washington D.C. writes...
“The main reason I bought my Shopsmith MARK V was the Horizontal Boring feature. I had seen a twin-spindle, horizontal boring machine at a cabinetmaker's shop and quickly realized how much expensive wood, time and effort I would have saved when edge-gluing tabletops, etc. In fact, I had stopped trying to make anything that was more than one board wide.

Imagine my happy surprise when I found that the cost of a Shopsmith MARK V was les than what I'd pay for a horizontal boring machine alone. What a deal!
