Jointing on an earlier Shopsmith Jointer?

Hands positioned directly above cutterhead. Metal Guard not moved to behind fence to protect exposed Cutterhead. Standing in line of potential kickback. Taking a depth-of-cut in excess of 1/8-inch Knives dull.

DO
Keep hands at least 3-inches from cutterhead. Use push blocks and/or push sticks. Move guard behind fence to guard exposed cutterhead. Stand to left of machine during operation. No more than 1/8-inch depth-of-cut in a single pass. Keep knives SHARP!
