The Curio Cabinet

A true reflection of your fine craftsmanship

Making the Bottom Cabinet Panels

The bottom panels
(H) are made from two separate pieces of stock.  The back board is made from a piece of stock 8-7/16-inches x 12-7/16-inches that has been planed down to a thickness of 7/16-inches. In the center, is the decorative panel. This piece is 6-3/16-inches x 10-3/16-inches x 1/8-inch thick with 3-inch radius corner cut-outs. You can make the cut-outs with a scroll saw, bandsaw or sabre saw.

Cut the mortises for the door hinges. Finish sand all parts and apply the finish of your choice. All panels should be finished prior to final assembly. Install the panels in the frames with flathead wood screws and washers. Install the double-strength glass and mirror with wire brads through the glass bead, countersunk and filled.

Install the hardware and the glass shelves.
