Cleaning metal Sanding Discs?

What is the best way to clean the sticky glue off a Sanding Disc once you've removed the sandpaper?
 
The best plan is to put the disc (with sandpaper attached) in a 150-degree oven for about a half-hour.  The paper and sticky glue should then both come off easily. Another option is to remove the paper from the disc using a heat gun. Either of these approaches should also work well in the event you've already managed to peel off the paper and only need to remove the sticky glue.
