Real Letters from
Shopsmith Power Tool Owners

New Mexico man has had same wife and same Shopsmith for over 50 years

Bob P. of Albuquerque, NM writes...
“Age 68. Shopsmith owner since 1953. Bought it new for less than $250 from a hardware store that had a franchise in Albuquerque. Kept it in the laundry room off our kitchen (over my wife's objections, I might add) and rolled it out on the patio to work.

The wife was always after me to make her a rolling pin...but I didn't completely trust her reasons for wanting one. We recently celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary, and I still haven't made her that rolling pin. Don't intend to, either!

Ohio man uses MARK V to win numerous woodworking awards

James Duxbury of North Royalton, OH writes...
“My Shopsmith has been a real asset to me...not only in wood-turning, but in the building of numerous other woodworking projects, as well. I have received two first places and a second place with a kaleidoscope, one first place on a pewter-inlayed lidded bowl, a first place on a small platter, a second place on a holly mallet turned on three centers and a first place on a two-center small wooden box.

Many of these awards came from the local branch of the American Association of wood-turners whose members have many, many years of experience, the best of schooling and very expensive lathes and equipment.

My all-in-one Shopsmith MARK V, with a little ingenuity, has held its own with the best of them ! Thanks, Shopsmith for a great machine!

Georgia man appreciates good service

R. Dudley of Savannah, GA writes...
“Recently, the Dust Collector I purchased from Shopsmith started to make noises for no apparent reason. I disassembled it and discovered that the fan hub had cracked. I called your service group to ask for help. The gal who handled my call was a real pro. She explained that you were replacing the original 8-bladed fan with a four-bladed fan, took my order, promised prompt shipment and told me that there would be no charge.

The new fan arrived yesterday and I installed it this morning. The dust collector now works fine. My total regard for your company could not be higher after this experience. I don't think that one company in a hundred is run the way Shopsmith is. You should be proud of Shopsmith and your people. My thanks to you for restoring my faith in American business!
